I wanted to lose these extra pounds to get back down to my goal weight and fit all the clothes I have in my closet. I am also getting married in less than a year and wanted to be at a weight that I was comfortable with and look great in my dress! I decided to make the change and I am so happy I did.
Macronutrients are made up of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. These are the nutrients our body needs to in order to function properly. Each macronutrient has its own specific role and function in our body and this is what supplies us with the proper energy that we need to function. The amount of fats, proteins and carbohydrates is determined by your coach and it is based on your height, weight and amount of physical activity you do each day.
I lost 12 pounds in just 9 weeks by keeping track of my physical activity, water consumed and by calculating my proteins, fats and carbohydrates. I kept track of all of this on my smart phone using the app “My Fitness Pal”. I would search the foods I wanted to eat and made sure it fit into my daily macronutrients. Each day I would record my weight, and my macronutrients and then every Monday I would email my coach my results and determine whether I was on the right track or not. At first counting macros can seem “hard” but really, it is the most simple and enjoyable program I have ever used and to be honest I do not even want to call it a “diet” because there was no foods I couldn’t have. I did not suffer from any headaches, there was no cravings and there was nothing that I could not have. I was able to eat out if I wanted, I did not have to say “no” to anything at a party and overall I was just happy with my food. This program is designed for EVERYONE! It is so easy to calculate the foods you love and not feel restricted.
I stayed motivated each week because I had to submit my results to my coach and this left me feeling accountable and motivated to do well. I loved seeing my chart for the week and seeing my weight loss. I also loved getting positive emails from my coach that left me feeling happy with my progress each week and it kept me motivated. Working out at Synergee 4 days a week also helped with my progress and it definitely kept me motivated as well.
At first getting started with this diet it did seem tough and like a lot of extra work but I caught on quickly. Prepping meals daily became a good habit and made each day easy having my meals prepared and ready to go. After being on the Accelerator Macro flexible diet for only about two days I had already noticed a MAJOR difference in the amount of energy I had throughout the day at the gym.
Having been on this diet for about three months now I have hit many PRs, therefore increasing my overall strength. I can now do one CrossFit workout and within a couple minutes of recovery I am ready to go for another workout. Waking up the next morning after a very hard day of training I also feel much more recovered and ready to go for another day.
Having the opportunity to do this diet I have learned that for the amount of exercise I do and for the goals that I have for myself I definitely was not eating enough food and in the right proportions! Now that I am, I feel great, perform well during my workouts and I am now reaching my goals much quicker!
